Is MyTags a good Tag8 alternative?

It depends on what you want. If your goal is a lost-and-found tag where a finder can reach you without ever seeing your phone number, email or name, MyTags is built around exactly that. Does the person who scans my tag see my phone number?

Does the finder need to install an app or sign up?
